Boston Marathon The club organizes bus transportation to transport runners to and from the Boston Marathon. In the past, they have rented a hotel room at the finish line for runners to shower and change. They have also had a person available for massages. There is a fee for this, and the bus usually fills up quickly with club runners have priority over non-club runners for seats on the bus. Boston Marathon Lottery Here are the criteria for the lottery which is held each year during the annual Wamponaog Holiday party for the following years Boston Marathon race:
Starting with the 2006 marathon, the lottery system was changed to be an NBA style lottery. In this manner, a runner gets an entry in the lottery drawing for each club activity in which they have been involved or volunteered during the previous year. These activities include jobs such as club sponsored race support, water stations, board of director positions, etc. One marathon entry will be automatically awarded to the runner who has accumulated the most "entry" points during the calendar year the lottery is held. Note that certain club events or tasks qualify for multiple entries in the lottery as follows:
